Wayne State University is a premier, public, urban research university located in the heart of Detroit. The 200-acre traditional and high-tech campus is in the heart of Midtown, offering unparalleled access to cultural experiences, community involvement, and corporate career opportunities. Wayne State University is the third largest institution of higher learning in Michigan and the most diverse campus in the state with nearly 25,000 students from every U.S. state and nearly 80 countries. Wayne State is home to 13 colleges offering over 350 degree programs. The campus hosts a business incubator known as TechTown and the first graduate-level repertory theater in America called the Hilberry Theatre. The Wayne State Warriors also field 18 men’s and women’s Division II athletics teams.

Wayne State University has been a wonderful experience thus far. They have been great at communicating and providing us with all the information we need. The campus is beautiful and easy to navigate with a lot of options for study rooms, food, working out, and more. The only thing I would change is more communication on the financial side of the education and it can be difficult to schedule an appointment with a financial aid advisor. Other than that, I am enjoying my time, the advisors, the people, the atmosphere, and everything else. I am excited to be a Wayne State University Student.

Wayne State University offers a vibrant, diverse campus life and strong academic programs, especially in medicine and engineering, with excellent support services. However, campus facilities need to be more modernized, and parking can be challenging. Updated labs, libraries, and study spaces would enhance the learning experience. Enhancing administrative processes and improving on-campus housing would further improve the student experience.

Wayne State is a welcoming university for all students, no matter the path they have taken. The environment created at this school through its well-developed advising team, supportive staff, and extremely encouraging upperclassman student body. Wayne State is the perfect school for me due to its student life, financial assistance, all of its amenities, and the promising academic career it gives me through the Irvin D. Reid Honors College and all my classes.
